Project objectives

This research and development project aims at implementing a new platform for supporting collaboration within organizations, companies and consortiums having separate internal work culture and infrastructure. The platform fulfills its tasks by providing web-based and other (multimodal) interfaces adapting to the existing software and data-handling infrastructure of cooperating partners for the whole life-cycle of a project.

One of the most VITAL features of factories is their ability of
cooperation, quick responses to changes and disturbances. These are
matters of survival, independent of the size of the firms.
The goal of our project is to research and develop new methods for the
real-time management of complex technical and economical systems that
work in changing, uncertain environments. Since our methods come from
various, novel areas of informatics, operational research and knowledge
based systems, their integration will balance the aspects of

The objective of the program is to prepare reference studies that analyse the results of those research and pilot activities in the courses of which web, digital TV and mobile technology integrating eLearning solutions have been developed. "Ubiquitous learning" is the type of life-long learning that is customized to persons. It is the next generation of electronic learning. It allows easier access to courseware both in the areas of informal and non formal learning and it contributes to ensuring higher mobility for the citizens of Europe.

1 Aug 2004– 31 Jul 2007

The objective of the program is to support co-operation between research institutes that deal with the development of knowledge technology and eLearning applications, in order to facilitate the distribution of development results and their widespread utilisation. In the course of the program the partner institutes will implement researcher exchange programs, joint workshops and work discussions in the interest of exploiting the research results.

1 Aug 2004– 31 Jan 2007

The main INFRAWEBS project focus and objective is the development of an application-oriented software toolset for creating, maintaining and executing WSMO-based Semantic Web Services (SWS) within their whole life cycle.

Introduction

Digital Libraries (DL) have been made possible through the integration and use of a number of IC technologies, the availability of digital content on a global scale and a strong demand for users who are now online. They are destined to become essential part of the information infrastructure in the 21st century.

1 Jan 2004– 31 Dec 2008

The gradual deployment of broadband networks throughout the research community and the fact that network capacity grows with much greater rate than CPU power and storage capacity (Moore's Law vs. storage improvements vs. optical improvements) have led to the creation of a distributing environment for sharing resources known as the Grid paradigm. This integrated networking & middleware environment is also called eInfrastructure.

1 Jan 2004– 31 Dec 2008

The EGEE project brings together experts from over 27 countries with the common aim of building on recent advances in Grid technology and developing a service Grid infrastructure which is available to scientists 24 hours-a-day.

The project aims to provide researchers in academia and industry with access to major computing resources, independent of their geographic location. The EGEE project will also focus on attracting a wide range of new users to the Grid.

The project will primarily concentrate on three core areas:

1 Jul 2003– 28 Feb 2006

Measuring security risks of the public network and systems consisting of computers connected to a network, new applied methods in security, developing technologies and devices, elaborating sample security systems, determining operational guidelines of organizations working in the area of security, propagating of a culture encouraging consciousness about security issues in computer networks (teaching materials, work conferences, case analyses).

1. The goal of the project and the use of the results after finishing the project

The goal of the project is to develop an online plagiarism-search portal that helps both digital libraries to protect their documents, and teachers, professors to find copied work or publications. The portal would also give information about the Hungarian legal issues corresponding to this special field, and would include a discussion forum as well.
