A high-fidelity multicopter simulation model developed by HUN-REN SZTAKI researchers recently published

System identification of DJI M600 multicopter was carried out by ARNL researchers. The drone itself was provided by the ‘Developing innovative automotive testing and analysis competencies in the West Hungary region based on the infrastructure of the Zalaegerszeg Automotive Test Track, GINOP-2.3.4-15-2020-00009’ project.

The goal was to provide a high-fidelity MATLAB simulation model to ease controller development for the drone by removing the need for implementation and flight testing at early stages of development.

The inputs of the identified model perfectly cover the control input options of DJI OSDK (Onboard Software Development Kit) making the real flight application of the developed controllers considerably easier.

Description of the model and the simulation model itself were published in MDPI Aerospace Q1 rank journal (https://www.mdpi.com/2226-4310/11/1/79) making it freely accessible for the research community.
