The European manufacturing industry is facing challenges in terms of adaptability, flexibility and vertical integration. The SYMBIO-TIC project adresses these important issues towards a safe, dynamic, intuitive and cost effective working environment were inmersive and symbiotic collaboration between human workers and robots can take place.

Our laboratory has a long-term and fruitful partnership with the Aventics (former Bosch Rexroth) company. The factory, located in Eger (Hungary), produces pneumatic components and systems. Within the partnership our laboratory provides support to the introduction and application of advanced decision making tools in the manufacturing and logistics areas of the company.

The eLearning Department of MTA SZTAKI prepared an application optimised for mobile devices for Mobilis Ltd. in order to support career orientation activity within the framework of project entitled "Development of Economical and Social Role of Regional Innovation and Technology Centre of Automotive Industry on the Basis of the Széchenyi István University". The application can be found under name of
"6ásos mérnök" in the application stores (Google Play és Apple App Store).

Existing research mostly focuses on pre-optimising algorithms, which are not applicable to already available VM images. With its VM synthesiser, ENTICE will extend pre-optimising approaches so that image dependency descriptions are mostly automatically generated. The project will also introduce new comprehensive post-optimising algorithms so that existing VM images can be automatically adapted to dynamic Cloud environments.

Based on the APIS project, with extended goals: "To study, define, analyse a new system concept for implementing and demonstrating ISAR imaging capability in a plug-in multistatic array passive radar finalized to target recognition."

The aim of the project is to extend the information services provided by the Municipality of Törökbálint Township. The mobile contents follow the updates of the database of the Web page of the town thanks to the data synchronisation. Introduction to the sights of the town, interactive map that can be downloaded in advance and thematic festival and event recommenders belong to the basic functionalities of the application.

In cooperation with Festo-AM Gyártó Ltd, simulation expert colleagues of the laboratory participated several simulation-oriented projects, aimed at analysing the production systems of the company according to various criteria. In most cases the purpose of the analysis were the early-stage evaluation of the production and logistics systems’, simulating dynamic and real production environment based on the criteria provided by the engineers of Festo.

MTA SZTAKI prepares a complex training material in water management as a subcontractor of domestic TAMOP project “Academic cooperation for the water sector”. The training material covers 20 subjects and contains several thousands of multimedia elements (pictures, videos and animations) and a huge amount of mathematical formulas. It complies with the international standard SCORM and consequently, open source standard Learning Management Systems (LMSs) such as ILIAS and Moodle can load and display it.

The Budapest Museum of Fine Arts and the Hungarian National Gallery opened an exhibition of 25 international masterpieces from their collections on large outdoor digital displays in the centre of Madrid. The exhibition dubbed "Art on the Street from Budapest", featuring works by the likes of El Greco, Leonardo, Raphael and Munkacsy, will be on show near the Prado Museum until August 9.
The show is meant to draw attention to the rich collection of internationally important works in the two Budapest museums that merged two years ago.

The Hungarian Scientific Bibliography (MTMT) is a comprehensive national bibliographic database of scientific publications and citations. Since 1999 MTMT collects data from researchers and institutions, and serves more than 30 thousand users. Furthermore, MTMT also provides national and educational institutions with scientific statistical data. The quality of the bibliographic records and the management of institutional data are supervised by a country-wide network of MTMT administrators.
